TERMS OF USE «RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK»

In cooperation with APPLIANCES RECYCLING S.A., ACS Postal Services provides the opportunity for citizens to order a courier for the collection of electrical and electronic equipment, otherwise small appliances of a certain weight and dimensions, completely free of charge, for the purpose of recycling or reuse (home collection).

General Conditions

Through this page, this service is provided to citizens who wish solely to deliver electrical and electronic equipment for the purpose of recycling or preparing it for reuse, after accepting these terms of use of the website and completing the registration process of their data.

If the citizen wishes to use the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service, he/she agrees to: a) provide true, accurate, valid and complete information regarding the data requested on the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service page in the relevant fields for the registration of his/her order; b) consent to the keeping and processing of the data by Appliance Recycling S.A. and ACS.

The company APPLIANCES RECYCLING S.A. through the page of the service “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” keeps records with these data exclusively for the purposes of communication, statistics, provision and improvement of its services as well as for the purposes of the LIFE ECOSWEEE Program exclusively and only for the duration of the Program and/or the cooperation with ACS/YOU or any other related company activity.

The data of the users of the platform of APPLIANCS RECYCLING S.A., through the page of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service, are also available on the electronic platform “www.you.gr” for the purpose of ensuring privileges to all members of the platform by offering redemption points and rewards for the member’s choice to recycle electrical and electronic equipment. In particular, the user of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service, if he/she happens to be a member of the “www.you.gr” online platform, by selecting the relevant field, will consent to the disclosure of the data to the “www.you.gr” platform and will benefit from the privileges of the “www.you.gr” platform.

The management and protection of the personal data of the user of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service page is governed by Law 4624/2019, as in force, as well as by the new General Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 “on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data”.

The data provided by the users for the registration of their order are never disclosed to third parties, with the exception where expressly provided by Law 2225/1994, as amended, to the competent authorities only. The processing in this case is carried out by a Public or Judicial Authority and is necessary either for reasons of national security, or to serve the needs of forensic or penitentiary policy and concerns the investigation of crimes or other criminal convictions.

Conditions on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) for recycling

• Users of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service page, which can be accessed from the ACS online platform and from the official website of Appliances Recycling SA, must have made a definitive/permanent deletion and/or elimination of personal data and data that may be contained in the electronic devices they deliver for recycling and preparation for reuse, in order to prevent any leakage of data. In the event that, for whatever reason, a device sent for recycling contains personal and/or sensitive data that have not been deleted, Appliance Recycling S.A. and ACS shall not be liable for any leakage of sensitive data and/or personal data that may occur.
• Users of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service page may send for recycling small electrical and electronic devices weighing up to 4kg, measuring 20x20x20 cm or 30x30x10 cm, which fit in a bag provided by ACS.
• A) IT equipment: laptop, tablet, mobile phones, wearables, modems, routers, mice, keyboards, video cameras, external hard disk, landline/wireless phone, chargers, headphones, USB, power bank, etc.
• B) small appliances: blender, kettle, electric toothbrush, electric toothbrush, hand brush, hand mixer, hand mixer, hair clipper, small lights, speakers, vapes/e-cigarettes, alarm, toaster, game consoles, tools, battery operated toys, drone, etc.
• With this service it is not possible to ship electrical appliances such as: Light bulbs, Batteries (unless built into the device) ink cartridges and toners, medical equipment. In case users have such electrical equipment, they can contact directly with Appliance Recycling S.A. or be informed from its official website about the nearest WEEE disposal points.
• The appliances will be placed in the special bags by the distributor himself.

Users of the service’s website can deliver a number of devices up to 4kg, measuring 20x20x20 cm or 30x30x10 cm, per order. In the case of devices containing a built-in battery (which cannot be removed), a separate order must be placed so us to place the devices in a separate ACS bag.

• Users of the service should have removed before sending / making available the devices for delivery:
  memory cards they wish to keep and containing sensitive personal data
  batteries, if possible. It is then recommended that they are recycled by placing them in the nearest battery collection bin.
• light bulbs from light fixtures. It is then proposed to recycle them by placing them in the nearest lamp collection bin.
• any food and liquid residues.

• Users of the “RECYCLE IT WITH A CLICK” service, by handing in their appliances to ACS and sending them for recycling, no longer have any ownership relationship with the appliance they discard.
• If a user wishes to cancel the order to deliver the appliance for recycling, they must notify ACS in time to cancel the collection appointment. In case the device has been collected by Appliance Recycling SA through ACS and has been taken to an Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste Management Facility (WEEE), the device cannot be returned to the user.

These Terms of Use, as well as any modification thereof, are governed by Greek law. For any dispute that may arise between the members/users and the Company, the Courts of Athens are competent to resolve any dispute.
